Today, I brought home a beautiful soul from the shelter, and the moment he sat in the car, he didn’t bark, didn’t wag his tail—he simply looked at me with eyes full of tears. Was it sadness from waiting 8 long months behind cold metal bars? Or was it the confusion of leaving the only place he’d known? Or maybe… just maybe… it was the hope that, finally, someone had chosen him.
